Being descriminated by peple in Conservation Bio
Had a shock today.
I always get the feeling that the ang moh's are descriminating us, the asians, and this feeling proved me right for the past 2 conservation biology project meetings. Probably the same way as we, Singaporeans, do with the china people back in Singapore, but in a less obvious way. Worst is that my experience is with people who are in conservation biology unit. Aren't you guys suppose to have these peace-loving, nature-loving kind of attitude? So why are you so kind towards plants and animals, but not to humans of different races?
1st descriminating occurence to me - last Tuesday's personal group meeting:
The draft outline of our project was discuss the previous week (Only me, Jess, and marissa) and was emailed to everyone for review. All we need to do for this meeting was to get together and ammend the outline. I find that the original draft was good enough to be submitted (but apparently not for that one gal). Initially, I thought she was gonna add more details to the outline, but in the end she's just rephrasing and rearranging the outline only. So, I didn't commented much about it (since it's still the same idea, and anyway they talk too fast for me to process), but suddenly, the 'gal' just said it straight to my face that I didn't contribute enough for the meeting! WTF! Whose not contributing, she didn't even come for the meeting the previous week to discuss about the outline! She's only reading what we have done and change a few words here and there, and now she's saying that I didn't contribute?!
2nd descriminating occurence - the recent Wednesday meeting with the tutor:
I wonder what that bitch told the tutor about me that made her (tutor) think that I didn't contribute to the project. F****** sucker, who only turn up for meetings in which the tutor is in, presented stuff which we did and made it sound like she's the one who did all the research!
The moment the tutor stepped in and settled down, she immediately ask me if I have caught up with the rest of the group. What do you mean by caught up? I'm always in the meeting, I know what we are discussing about. Just because I didn't turn up for 1 meeting (last wednesday) doesn't mean I'm totally lost!
I even took the trouble to explained to her that I need to go for my patho presentation briefing. The briefing was a one off event, further more I haven't done any journal presentation briefing before, so it is obvious that I would choose to go for the briefing over a non-productive weekly meeting. And her reply was:" But still I think the meeting is more important than your briefing. Do you know that every meeting contributes to your participation marks etc?" WTF is wrong with her! I know you're specialized in conservation bio, but that doesn't gives you the right to say that your subject is more important than the rest of the subjects. All subjects that we are taking are equally important... and that's why we are taking it, to enrich our lives/ studies. Going for a meeting just to listen to your rambles about working in the field and saying things that have been discussed with no further instructions on what to do is an utter waste of time!
Anyway, lucky Marissa, told her that I went for the rest of the meeting and did contribute to the writting of the outline, which sort of eases/ reduces her 'misunderstanding' towards me.
3rd occurence:
Well... the conservation bio tutor emailed the rest of the gals with information and important stuff regarding the project, but not to me... what do you think of that? All of us gave her our email add, and she emailed to everyone except me! Isn't that obvious enough that she didn't like me or thinks that I'm just a lazy bitch?

The happiest day of my life in Tommy More!!
Today's a fantastic day!
Had 1 hour of lecture for the day and it's off for the week!
Went to city with Sheen, Gerard and Roy to fill our stomachs with Singapore delights - Chow Kway Teow for lunch. I was a little full from snacking on calamari and fried prawn while waiting for the rest to get ready, so I couldn't finish the plate of Kway Teow. Although it is nice, the taste just isn't the same as what I have tasted before in Singapore and Malaysia. Nevertheless, it is worth trying out.
Went for free bowling (coz the 1st game is free for all players) with my gang (sheen, Leon, Estee and Me)and Estee's senior's cell group mates at Leederville. Had loads of fun over there and I realized that I ain't that bad at bowling afterall. I scored 68 for a total of 10 games... so yeah.. I'm proud of myself coz this is only my second time bowling :)

Lol... juz look at how they label their toilet sign --> Dolls (ladies) and Guys

With all the energy used for bowling we have to replanish it, and thus we went for a supper at some kebab shop in Leederville. The kebab was expansive (8.50) but the portion they gave was huge... I was totally bloated after gobbling down that whole kebab wrap (mine was beef and lamb). Hmm... I think I need some green tea to wash it away.

Surprisingly, they put an alcohol breathe analyzer in the restaurant... such a weird place to put the analyzer when it's not a club/pub.

Currently, our hostel is playing the angel and mortal game, and I had another surprise from my angel. He gave me a box of Cadbury Easter Chocolate! yum and Yipee!!! But he chided me in his letter for the pack of chips I gave him... apparently I'm not suppose to give him (my angel) anything. haha... he's such a cute fellow.
I was wondering why it is so noisy outside my room at this timing (12 midnight) while I was checking my email, and peeped through my door's peep hole, and there he is! Trying to get that pack of chips out from my door clip, writing a note for me and clipping that box of chocolates at my door... aww... he's such a sweet guy. Too bad I can't really see his face clearly through the peep hole, but I do now know that he's an ang moh :) Thanks my angel... you really made my day so much happier... but I guess this box of chocolate is the last present that I'll received from you till Monday when we reveal ourselves.
Ok... now I really need to think of what to give to my mortal since my angel has set such a high standard for me. I can't possibly juz give my mortal a packet of sweets... argg.. thsi is giving me headache!

First gift from my angel... Juz look at the words... so sweet :)

It's a Kit Kat!!!

A box of Cadbury Easter Egg Chocolate... I LURVE it!!!

Scribbles from my angel :)
I just LOVE today... the best memory for the month. I get to know more friends who are so much more friendlier than those (some) asians in Tommy More and my angel gave me a big box of chocolate!
Signing off.....
