2nd day in IPOH
It is just so great to get away from all the stress that i've build up for the past half a year.... finally get to go over the sea and relax without worrying about anything... get to eat, watch TV, and sleep... Oh no.... i'm getting fatter by the minute.
Went to lunch at the two adjoining shops at old street. Unfortunately the better half of the shop was closed.. and i din get to eat my ipoh sa hor fun and custard egg. However i did get to taste the asam laksa, kangong with cuttlefish, deliciously fat popiah and the not so good ipoh hor fun. Although it was not as good as last time, but at least i get to taste it, which i never did in singapore...yum..yum...
Went shopping at ipoh parade and jaya jusco, but end up buying nothing as there was no sale during this time of the year except for malay stuff as hari raya is coming near.
Had Pig organ porridge for dinner...this is another delicacy i can never find in singapore.. Basically it is kway chap.. just that the organs ( such as pig's tongue, intestine) are deep fried.. they are so crispy...yum yum.. and they are deep into the porridge.
Grandpa wanted to buy another bowl of porridge at another shop for supper, it was said to be better than the shop that we ate our pig porridge.. however due to the 9th god celebration, the shop was closed... no wonder the shope that we went for lunch was closed.
